Job Description:
We have partnered with well-known firm in the Greater Philadelphia area to provide them with a Staff Accountant in Paulsboro, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for general accounting duties in the refinery administrative office environment. This position is also responsible for secondary cost accounting and analysis including railcar, truck, storage, and handling costs.

SUMMARY:
Perform a wide array of general accounting duties in the refinery administrative office environment. Must apply accounting and internal control theory to everyday activities, adhere to company policies and procedures, and report financial results in a timely, accurate manner.
KEY DUTIES: Preparing and entering journal entries, monthly accruals, general ledger account analysis, precious metal inventory and in-plant fuel accounting, third party billings for utility and other services, line handling fees, spent catalyst sales, and scrap sales, and warehouse inventory accounting.
This position is also responsible for secondary cost accounting and analysis including railcar, truck, storage, and handling costs.
EDUCATION: 4-year college degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting. Experience in a public accounting firm and/or manufacturing or logistics industry is preferred. SAP software experience is ideal, as is, advanced Excel spreadsheet skills. Knowledge of general ledger / sub-ledger configurations, chart of accounts, delegations of authority, and hands-on experience with balance sheet reconciliations and analysis will be beneficial.
COMPETENCY: Possesses an innate ability to work with numbers, details, and large amounts of information in a neat and orderly manner.
Works well under pressure and meeting deadlines is a requirement.
Proactively engages others with accounting related guidance/support.
