| In this position, the individual will be responsible for architecting/implementing UNIX infrastructure solutions for a multi-site Solaris/Linux environment with a focus on high performance computing for EDA applications. The individual will work closely with a small team of system administrators to maintain system performance & availability and participate in 7x24 on-call pager rotation. Job duties will include planning/implementing DR solutions, high-availability solutions, datacenter improvements, virtualization & grid based computing improvements, advanced infrastructure to support concurrent design across multiple remote design centers, elimination of Storage/Network/Computing bottlenecks to achieve the highest levels of computational throughput for engineering tasks such as simulation, design verification, etc. This position requires a BS/BA degree or equivalent with 7 or more years of related experience. Strong experience with architecture & implementation of advanced UNIX infrastructure solutions. In-depth knowledge of Solaris and/or Linux Operating Systems. Strong experience with system management tools and corporate wide UNIX systems deployment. Shell programming expertise. Network experience. The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people. A proven desire to work as a team member, both on the same team and outside of the team. Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
