Position
Summary   Samsung Information Systems America, Inc. is seeking a Content Licensing Attorney for its Media Solutions Center America (MSCA), reporting to the General Counsel.. The Content Licensing Counsel will be responsible for content licensing and distribution. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing and negotiating in-bound content licenses and related contracts such as marketing and advertising, distribution rights and end user terms of service, and a wide variety of other commercial agreements. The Content Licensing Counsel will also provide counseling on IP licensing, contracts and general legal issues, including privacy issues.
Common Essential
Duties & Resp.   • Drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide variety of content deals with entertainment companies, publishers, technology and service providers (including entertainment platform companies), marketing partners and telecom customers
• Drafting and maintaining consumer-facing agreements, such as software end-user license agreements.
• Working with outside legal counsel at the GC's request.
• Advising and supporting the Content and Services team and other business partners within MSCA and Samsung headquarters in South Korea.
• Advising on legal issues arising from existing content relationships.
• Providing client education and training on relevant legal issues.
• Partnering with business teams to develop policies and procedures involving licensing and related issues, particularly privacy issues.
Necessary Skills /
Attributes   Must possess outstanding drafting, negotiating and communication skills. Excellent business judgment as well as the ability to prioritize workflow and meet demanding deadlines while working in a fast-paced work environment are also required. The ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally, and effectively collaborate with HQ are essential.



Additional requirements include:
• Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school.
• Excellent academic credentials
• Currently licensed to practice law in the U.S.
• Minimum 5 years experience, both in-house and law firm
• In depth experience in content licensing in the context of the television, film and/or music industries
• Solid understanding of intellectual property protection
• Familiarity with both media and telecommunications regulations is strongly preferred
• Korean language skills desirable but not required
• There may be some travel, including international travel
