SanDisk, a global leader in flash memory storage solutions, seeks an energetic, results-oriented individual to work within its Corporate Communications team. The PR manager for OEM Communications will be involved in assisting and managing various global public relations programs, working primarily with the director of OEM and corporate communications. The successful candidate will also work directly with product line marketing managers, regional PR teams, various other marketing functions, as well as PR agencies and contractors.

This is a hands-on position. Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, possess a high level of initiative and be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, sound news judgment, strategic thinking and the ability to drive projects through to completion.

Responsibilities

Program management:
• Manage the development, execution and follow up for various PR programs and activities.
• Assist with news planning, product launches, PR campaigns, and coordination with product management teams.
• Establish project timelines and communicate progress on a regular basis.
• Work with PR agency partners to develop, implement and manage various communications programs.

Media relations:
• Work with key influencers in the media, the industry analyst community and online.
• Occasional use of social media including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and other social media tools.
• Coordinating and managing interviews with company spokespeople.
• Providing sound communications counsel for internal clients.

Writing:
• As needed, develop news releases, media presentations, Q&A documents, briefing materials and biographies.

Reporting and Metrics
• Responsible for creating reports that track ROI and effectiveness of communications programs.

Reporting
The position reports to the director, Global OEM and Corporate Communications.


Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years experience working in a PR agency and/or corporate public relations setting.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism or public relations, with excellent academic record.
• Strong writing, news judgment, problem solving, decision making and research skills.
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment but also work independently with little supervision.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and creative with a high level of initiative.
• Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Ability to see all projects through to completion.
• Excellent verbal communication skills along with experience influencing internal stakeholders regarding the value of effective communications.
• Experience using social media platforms.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
