Human Resources Generalist
Location: Ft. Smith, Arkansas

Relocation provided

Develop, promote and implement innovative HR solutions to meet business needs and increase organizational efficiency. Responsible for providing directions and assistance with employment, salary administration, performance management, employee relations, labor relations, employment law and workforce planning.

Employee Relations
• Provides advice and counsel to hourly and salary employees to maintain a positive, productive employment environment free of discrimination and inconsistencies. Monitor and provide feedback regarding policies, procedures and programs and propose improvements as necessary. Serve as a liaison for voicing employee concerns.
• Coach employees, supervisors and colleagues, assisting them in problem resolution and to improve performance. Coach, advise and recommend corrective actions.
• Serves as liaison between the HR Service Center and employees for escalation issues.
• Support line leaders to improve skills and effectiveness and to create an environment where each employee can fully contribute.

Staffing & Recruitment
• Manages the process for temporary staff utilized in our facility. Acts as the company liaison with the staffing agency.
• Has oversight and involvement in all hourly hiring practices. Administers the hiring process for all employee groups. Support salaried hiring process.
• Partners with the training team to support the on-boarding process and integration of employees.
• Represent facility in unemployment claims process.
• Conducts exit interviews and tracks results.

Labor Relations
• Attends labor management meetings and team meetings. Serves as note-taker for labor meetings
• Participates in and collects data to support the collective bargaining process.

Other
• Assist in development or reengineering of innovative processes and systems (Reward & Recognition, attendance etc)
• Provides reports to management on a regular and an ad hoc basis.
• Deliver training in various areas including training, coaching, orientation etc.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations pertaining to Human Resources.
• Complies with and drives compliance with all HR, safety and quality practices.
• Initiate actions within the HRIS and manages employee files.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's (BA or BS) in Human Resource Management or related field (e.g. Business, Organizational Communication, Industrial Psychology), plus a minimum of three years work experience in Human Resources OR seven years of related work experiences may be considered acceptable in lieu of degree.
• Requires 3-7 years related experience, ideally in either a specialist or generalist capacity within Human Resources
• Human Resource experience including employee relations, benefits, training & development and staffing.
• Knowledge of state and federal employment law and applications.
• Experience in a union environment.
• PHR certification is desirable
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
