SAAS Operations Sr. Cloud Deployment Engineer (VIA)
The SaaS Operations Sr. Cloud Deployment Engineer is responsible for participating in the design, implementation, deployment and monitoring of Client's Cloud SaaS production / UAT environments.
The ideal candidate will be able to help design, monitor and maintain a world-class SaaS hosting infrastructure, work with Client's partners/teams to deploy cloud applications from the development and test environments, into our cloud production environments.
Responsibilities:
Participate in SaaS Ops technical activities related to migrating, deploying and adopting new cloud products and services.
Participate and review testing procedures for change and configuration management in the production environments.
Provide technical input into architecture, policies, and procedures to ensure that security, backup, failover, alerting and disaster recovery mechanisms are in place.
Work with the service provider (Azure) to establish and deliver performant/available Cloud solutions.
Analyze and resolve SaaS infrastructure faults and undertakes routine preventative measures as well as kick off new initiatives to proactively avoid service degradations.
Integrate technologies, processes, tools, and methodologies to mature SaaS Operations services (procedures, application management tools, monitoring and more).
Work closely with Development/QA/DevOPS to establish effective communication and processes to ensure seamless software and infrastructure deployment, and effective issues escalation and resolution.
Use judgment to develop and clarify expectations, scope, and scale to achieve shared objectives and minimize redundancy.
Coordinate closely on activities, requirements, progress, status, etc. internally (in SaaS) , customer management, program management, Engineering, DevOps , QE teams and external service providers.
Attend and participate in regular status meetings and represent deployment team in information exchange meetings
Demonstrate ability to manage several concurrent projects involving multiple stakeholders executing in a matrix environment.
Knowledge & Skills:
Proven expertise with networking protocols, Linux, Unix & Windows platforms
Passion for systems engineering and automation
Must have 3+ years of prior experience managing and scaling complex SaaS or Web Services environments in a fast pace / high growth environment (Azure, AWS)
Excellent organization, documentation and communication skills
Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Strong experience in UNIX shell scripting
Experience with Microsoft Powershell a plus.
Experience with monitoring systems and other reporting tools (Zabbix, Nagios, App Dynamics)
Experience with Enterprise Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
Understanding of Firewalls, NAT, DNS, SMTP, IMAP
Experience a plus with infrastructure automaton, like Chef, Puppet
Available for after-hours support
Strong commitment to organizational work ethics.
Ability to develop new approaches to complex infrastructure design problems
Solid understanding of change management, App Support and Tech Support services within Cloud Solutions.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel as needed (?5%).
