[KITlist] P/T Bookkeeper - Architecture Firm (San Francisco, CA)

Martinkovic Milford Architects, a San Francisco architecture firm is looking for a versatile Bookkeeper to compliment our accounting team in the area of general accounting and administration support. This position will be primarily responsible for getting our bookkeepig functions up to speed and current. Applicants should be experienced, knowlegable, dedicated, punctual and self-motivated. Working from the office is a requirement, bookkeepers looking to work remotely need not apply.

Our ideal candidate enjoys managing a variety of responsibilities, has a strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts, AR/AP, payroll and Quickbooks skills, mixed with a variety of analytical skills and experience. Currently we ar using DelTek but we are in the process of transitioning to Axium Ajera software. The ideal candidate can communicate effectively and efficiently with the Principals. This position is responsible for overseeing all bookkeeping activities as well as conducting analysis and supporting the Principals of Martinkovic Milford.

We offer a friendly, comfortable atmosphere in a convenient downtown location. We anticipate needing the bookkeeper present in the office for approximately 2 days/week, until tasks are completed. Hours and days are flexible. If you are the perfect candidate, you will have the following skills and abilities:

Job Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain QuickBooks files
• Accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Process payments
• Perform monthly cash reconciliation
• Handle inquiries and related research needed for resolution
• Generate monthly reports
• Ability to make decisions and know when independent decision-making can be applied or when consultation is required
• Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with our outside Accountant.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of bookkeeping and administrative experience. Background should include AP, AR, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and preparation of spreadsheets, graphs and charts.
• Skills: Quickbooks: Advanced; MS Office: Strong
• Superior attention to detail, and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written (excellent spelling and grammar) communication skills
• Must be proactive, self-directing and project oriented
• Dependable with daily, weekly and monthly tasks
• Personality: Upbeat, energetic, takes initiative, dependable, takes pride in work
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy
• Great planning, multi-tasking and organizational skills and a drive for neatness
• Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines in a changing environment
• Prefer AA degree or greater.
• Knowledge of or previous experience bookkeeping for an architecture or similar field is a plus!
