Position Summary:


 We are looking for a dynamic leader to plan, develop and implement modern public relations and influencer programs that will build the company's brand and position it as a visionary leader within the online eyewear market. You'll lead, coach and direct the efforts of internal social teams and external PR agency partners to build deep relationships with key media and influencers, ensure compelling and effective messaging pull-through, drive measurable results, and maintain strict budget controls. As a key company spokesperson, you will be responsible for representing the firm in interviews and public speaking engagements along with other senior company leaders. 




 Primary Responsibilities: 


 • Deeply understand and help articulate the company's brand proposition in ways that build emotional engagement with the brand and that drive competitive differentiation.


 • Develop and implement an integrated PR and communications strategy that leverages best-of-breed tactics for traditional media relations as well as social media and community engagement.


 • Direct internal PR and social teams and external vendor partners to ensure the delivery of world-class story telling that is on time, on budget, and on brand. 


 • Partner with key stakeholders including marketing, merchandising, UX/UI, and the executive team to understand the business, product and site roadmaps, and target audiences in order to create compelling social content and opportuntities for on-going media coverage. 


 • Maintain an internal database of journalists, target media outlets, appropriate influnecers/bloggers. 


 • Identify key metrics, set goals, and provide regular reporting on all activities and their results.


 • Develop crisis communication plans to address potential business, product, regulatory issues that may arise in the normal course of business.


 • Be a company spokesperson providing interviews to key journalists and influencers when appropriate as well as managing the process to identify and train other employees to do the same. 



 Qualifications/Requirements:


 • 10+ years' marketing, public relations, and communications experience within an e-Commerce or technology company with focus in fast moving consumer goods. 


 • Proven track record in the design and execution of public relations and communications activities including press releases, presentations and media outreach. 


 • Experience overseeing the creation of social media content as well as content and editorial calendars. 


 • Experience managing PR agencies and placing content in a variety of media outlets with successful results


 • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations and/or Communications. Graduate degree in a related field desirable.


 • Strong leadership experience and competencies including staff management, coaching/development, performance management and change leadership.


 • Superior written and verbal communication skills 


 • Effective budget development and management skills and experience.


 • Experience with WordPress or a similar CMS platform; SEO, Google Analytics or other Web analytics. 


 • Strong computer literacy including data base management, email, Outlook calendar, internet, Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with PR and social media platform and tools.


 • Ability to translate quantitative/qualitative consumer data and insights into strong targeted strategies. 


 • Demonstrated project management and planning skills with the aptitude to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive successful implementation results. 


 • Strategic, innovative and creative thinker. 


 • Self-motivated and detail-oriented nature to drive results and thrive in an exciting, fast-paced environment.


 • Ability to organize, summarize, clarify and communicate ideas simply, succinctly and accurately. 


 • Sound judgment and a willingness to question actions or communications that are inconsistent with company values. 


 • Collaborative team player with a positive outlook and "can-do" attitude. Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
