Shutterfly is looking for a Design Manager to join our Creative department, working across Shutterfly and Tiny Prints brands. The Design Manager will direct and review the channel marketing work we send to our agency partner. The types of projects will include email, site home pages, display advertising, promo banners and other DM work. This role requires a strong design and creative background, and a good eye. We are looking for someone who likes reviewing and overseeing creative work and good at reviewing copy. You will partner with agencies to direct and oversee the day-to-day design adaptation and execution for digital, mobile and print marketing campaigns, maintain the brand essence. We are looking for someone who is a great team player and loves working with external agencies. This role requires someone who is highly organized with excellent communication skills, who can multi tasks and stay calm under pressure.

Our work includes home pages, landing pages, mobile design and messaging, email design, display advertising, social media, catalog and print DM, promotional and awareness videos. RESOPONSIBILITIES
Provide design direction to agency partners on multiple projects at a time
Ensure that agency has the correct assets and is given clear direction on adaptation
Review assets to ensure consistency, accuracy, integration and uphold brand style guide and channel best practices
Communicate changes and/or updates on projects, templates and channel best practices
Understand complex project requirements, understand briefs, and recognize potential risks and dependencies relevant to resourcing work
Be involved with current and future internal design standards and guidelines and be the liaison between the internal Creative team and the agency
Work with the Creative Operations team to overcome obstacles and engage with the work to help designers and copywriters where necessary
Have regular check-ins with the internal Creative team and the agency to assess work and improvements with creative adaptation
Help with onboarding of new design hires at the agency
Help create a positive environment daily where beautiful design can flourish
Thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and works well under pressure
QUALIFICATIONS
Seasoned Ecommerce / Retail creative
Expertise in directing production and design talent
Strong design background working in marketing communications
A solid understanding of digital marketing channels and the marketing funnel
Be able to understand the brand and properly interpret it as part of guiding external work
Be able to oversee and provide feedback on agency work, consistency, accuracy, and integration
Track record of how to take a concept and execute design adaptation through various channels, templates, sizes and specs
Be highly organized, self-directed, proactive and can oversee multiple projects
Has advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
A Bachelor in Art and Design or equivalent from a 4-year University or College
5-7 years of work experience in this field with 3+ years working as a Senior Designer or Design Manager at an agency or in-house creative team
