Position – Summary
The Professional Services Engineer is responsible for providing services and solution implementations for customers. This position requires strong technical and communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to work with customers under a variety of circumstances and understand and meet customer expectations is a requirement. The individual must be a self-starter with strong problem solving skills. As the technical lead for a customer implementation, the individual will work with customers to identify requirements, and design and implement solutions. The individual needs to be a quick study, and must be able to learn new technologies and products on the fly. The position requires a customer service-centric attitude, strong technical aptitude, and eagerness to learn and grow as my client configures and installs solutions to meet its customers’ growing enterprise needs.
Experience out of a software or product firm required
Reports to the VP of Professional Services
Responsibilities:
· Requirements gathering, technical scoping, design, documentation, and implementation of Firm’s Cloud Data Protection product in an enterprise customer environment.
· Implementing customer-specific integrations, customizations, and configurations
· Assisting with user migration from on premise solutions to the cloud
· Executing pilots and POCs
· Authoring and delivering technical presentations
· Supporting technical pre- and post-sales activities
· Product troubleshooting, debugging, and providing internal feedback for product improvements
· Designing and utilizing scalable and reusable tools and processes
Required Skills and Competencies:
Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude with:
· DNS, network topologies and architecture, hypervisor technologies
· Linux/Unix system administration
· Python and Windows PowerShell scripting
· Network debugging tools
· Experience with and deep understanding of email protocols and Microsoft Exchange systems and deployments
· Deep technical understanding of cloud-based applications and technologies
· Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, and to deliver measurable results under designated deadlines and within stated project budgets.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, time management, discipline, and problem solving skills
· The ability to work independently or within a team setting, as well as directly with customers
· Prior experience working directly with customers in similar roles
Desired Skills:
· Experience with public cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, vCloud Air, etc.)
· Experience with upgrade and/or migration to Exchange 2013
· Experience with migrations from on premise Exchange or Google Apps to Office 365
