Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is looking for an Event Operations Director for our technology client based in San Mateo, CA. Must have recent experience in managing all aspects of event technology and operations for large scale conferences and/or various event programs. This role will be responsible for managing the overall program operations and logistics for the entire conference including; financial management (revenue budgeting models and pricing strategies), sponsorship management (sponsor and exhibitor programs and marketing promotional opportunities), marketing and communications management (audience acquisition and communication strategies and programs), production management (general and breakout sessions, special events) and content management (speaker logistics and content development). The Operations Director will also implement and deliver against the objectives with a keen eye on the tactics pre-defined for the program.

The ideal candidate is an event professional, with general events knowledge and background, accustomed to working in a fast paced, results-oriented, customer-centric environment. Must be detail oriented, resourceful, enthusiastic, high energy and productive with a demonstrated ability to drive measurable results.

Responsibilities:

Ensure event objectives are delivered against the event plan

Create and manage the operational plan for the event

Report on overall program results and measurements of individual programs

Define key program stakeholders, create functional teams, manage expectations to timeline and budgets

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensuring alignment with the business, sales revenue goals and marketing and brand objectives

Execute on program objectives and metrics through tracking mechanisms and analysis

Full program development and management may include:

Work with external vendor to conduct site inspections in order to select venues for special events

Work with Creative Director to execute program deliverables based on the event theme and messaging

Work with Expo Manager on Partner, Sponsor and Exhibitor Operations

Conduct RFPs, vendor selection, negotiation and contracts

Run weekly core team meeting of vendors, contractors, and full-time employees

Work with Director of Content and Break-out Sessions and Speaker Manager on all operations

Work with Integrated MarCom Manager on the internal and external communications plan

Work with the Operations/Registration Manager on creating the Web-based registration, Speaker Portals, Sponsor Portals, Microsites and Social Media

Work with external vendor on various vendor travel and logistics

Oversee and maintain master event timelines, deliverables and program plans and schedules

Work with Operations Manager on all aspects of budget management: Drive financial reporting for all lines of revenue and expenses

Master of onsite implementation

Documenting/preparing/presenting all post-event program results (measurements and metrics)

Skills:

8 to 10 years' experience managing large scale event programs, including event operations and logistics

Must have recent experience working for at least one technology company

Strong communications skills: verbal/public speaking, written, presentations

Strong project management capabilities with attention to details

Must have the ability to juggle multiple, concurrent demanding initiatives and projects

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite

Bachelors' degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Business or similar

Position Summary:

Qualifications:

·          Work with internal application, infrastructure, and architecture teams to assess the information security risk of existing technology, infrastructure and processes as well as proposed projects.

·          Coordinate business-level information security risk assessments for key information assets.

·          Help to identify and track mitigation actions intended to reduce identified risks, as well as tracking and reporting on changes in key risk indicators.

·          Assist with information security risk aspects of internal audits.

Required Skills and Competencies:

·          10+ years’ experience in Information Security roles with hands-on experience with a variety of technologies and architectures sufficient to provide the background necessary to work closely and “go deep” with development and infrastructure teams.

·          Preferred 5+ years’ experience in designing, deploying, or assessing information security technology, processes, and controls.

·          Experience with Vendor Management Programs, performing risk assessments of third party service providers/vendors based on ISO27001 and SIG, review of SSAE16, etc.

·          Experience performing technical risk assessments for internal projects, working closely with the architecture team.

·          Significant breath of technical experience and critical analysis skills sufficient to perform detailed risk analysis on a variety of technologies and use cases.  The successful candidate will have the technical depth and analysis capabilities necessary to be proficient when examining controls and identifying risk in areas such as data encryption, access control, security architecture, information security policy and standards, and vulnerability management.

·          Past experience working with auditors to prepare SSAE16 or similar reports.

·          Experience responding to client RFPs, and meeting with clients to review information security posture.

·          Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills are a must.

·          CISSP is preferred.
