Position Summary:
As a Senior Engineer, you will be developing the next generation of client applications for the firm. You will be working with a group of world-class engineers, architects and product managers to build the breakthrough features users will love, adopt and use while keeping the application stable and scalable.
You have a solid understanding of the MVC pattern, an obsession with commenting your code, a natural tendency to self-test your code before calling it done and a knack for building quality user experience. You'll be a part of a modern, lean, self-governing engineering team where you have the ability to switch hats between designing new capabilities, coding features, testing for quality and performance, and automating release management processes.
Responsibilities:
· Developing, deploying and maintaining new functionality that integrates with Salesforce.com platform
· Providing technical development and design guidance to a team of software engineers
· Define processes and best practices for the engineering team
· Facilitate the Scrum process of planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
· Building integration components to transition data from local and cloud based systems
· Supporting the development team with Java application development and maintenance as required
· Identify potential new technical solutions and or approaches for the Salesforce.com platform
Required Skills and Competencies:
Qualifications:
· 5+ yrs. experience programming with a Java EE framework (Struts, Spring etc.)
· 2 + yrs. experience developing applications on the AWS platform
· Good understanding of AWS products including EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda etc.
· Extensive understanding of OO design and programming, building MVC structured applications
· Experience with common front end technologies including modern JS libraries and CSS
· Strong background working with Oracle or any other relational database
· Experience with software repository tools like GitHub, Accurev etc.
· Experience working with Eclipse or a similar IDE
· Experience with agile development methodology
· Excellent communication skills
· Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or Computer Science
Preferred experience:
Experience with other cloud technologies, including Amazon (EC2, SQS/SNS, S3 storage etc.)
Experience with SharePoint, Documentum or other content management technologies
Industry domain experience in Financial Services
Salesforce Developer or Advanced Developer Certification
Keys to this Position:
1) 7+ years of enterprise software development experience - This resource needs to have a strong application development background.
2) 5+ years of Java software development experience - The candidate needs to have experience building enterprise applications with Java through the full Software Development Lifecycle, preferably in an Agile environment.
3) 2+ years of experience building and deploying applications for Amazon Web Services (AWS).
4) Having experience working with Salesforce and being a Salesforce certified developer would be a big plus.
5) Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6) Position is based in Marlborough but will require occasional travel to Boston.
