Software Architect (Analytics Engine-171843)
Position Description
Teradata Aster R&D Labs is seeking experienced Senior Software Engineers to join their Innovative Database team. Responsibilities include:
(1) Design and develop key features for the Analytics Execution Engine, with focus on scalability and performance on a MPP system
(2) Technically lead a team engineers through the product lifecycle, including architecture, development, product support issues, beta testing, bug fixes, etc.
(3) As part of the team, review proposed designs to ensure that they conform to the product architecture.
(4) Work with other teams to define cross component dependencies.
Qualifications
(A) Required skills:
(1) Strong C++ and / or Java design and development experience
(2) In-depth understanding of:
(2.a) Database Engines or any other MPP technology
(2.b) Big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark and related products
(3) Knowledge of Analytic Engines is a plus
(4) Knowledge of Postgres database is a plus
(5) Experience in technically leading a team is a plus
(6) Ability to understand, evaluate and present technical solutions
(7) Good personal management skills to smartly prioritize and work on multiple assignments at one time
(8) Excellent written and verbal communication skills
(B) Preferred Experience and Education:
(1) MS/PhD degree in computer science/engineering or related field.
(2) 10+ years of related experience.
