Designworks is a full-service marketing and development agency located in the San Francisco Bay Area [design-works.com] Designworks has a broad range of clients and a talented team to provide marketing and web services. Currently, we are looking for an experienced Front-End Web Designer/Developer to work with our development team and augment our ability to deliver for our clients.
We are looking for a candidate that has experience installing Content Management Systems (CMS) and creating custom themes in one or more of the following:
WordPress
Drupal
Magento
Sitefinity
Candidates should be comfortable taking a Photoshop design mock ups and translating them into functional and responsive HTML/CSS pages.
Qualifications needed are:
2+ years' experience developing and implementing creative campaigns and projects with an ad agency, interactive agency or an in-house creative department.
At least 4 years of total front-end design and/or development experience (high-level design, communication, and presentation skills are a major plus).
Experience working with a team of both designers and developers.
Familiarity with the most up-to-date version of Adobe Creative Suite, and mastery of Photoshop and Illustrator.
Strong working knowledge of tableless layouts using CSS, standards-compliant (X)HTML, JavaScript (code implementation, modification, and scripting), JavaScript libraries such as JQuery or YUI, and PHP integration.
Experience with custom template creation in various content management systems, particularly Drupal, WordPress, Magento and Sitefinity.
Experience with UI frameworks such as Bootstrap, Semantic UI or Material Design.
Familiarity with HTML email authoring and mailing list services such as Mailchimp.
Detailed skills in terms of cross-platform (PC/Mac) and multi-browser (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome) testing/debugging, especially responsive design QA.
Should have a clear knowledge of user-centered design processes, interaction design guidelines, usability methodologies, industry standards and trends, both formal and informal usability testing methods.
Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and presentation skills.
Project management skills and SEO experience a big plus.
Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task 2 to 5 projects simultaneously
