Marketing Coordinator - Job Announcement

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is seeking a full-time Marketing Coordinator (MC) to support and implement marketing and communication efforts that enhance our earned revenue and raise the profile of the organization. The MC plays a key coordination and logistical role in helping to carry out current and long term strategies for product sales and marketing, and to work within established internal structures to support product development, delivery and future growth.

The ILRC is a national nonprofit legal support center located in San Francisco, California. Founded in 1979, we specialize in immigration law, policy, and immigrants´ rights. The ILRC´s work concentrates on three main program areas: (1) building the capacity of attorneys, paralegals, organizers, service providers, immigrants and others by providing legal technical assistance, trainings, and publications; (2) assisting immigrants with civic engagement projects to help expand immigrants´ rights and political power; and (3) conducting policy and advocacy work related to immigration law and immigrant rights.

The ILRC is a team-based organization that makes most of its decisions in a collaborative fashion that allows for significant staff input. This is a full time position that reports to the Marketing Manager, and participates in team-based organizational projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Marketing Coordinator is a hands-on position supporting the development and implementation of the ILRC's marketing programs for the earned revenue products and the organization´s marketing communications that include traditional print, online, and digital media platforms. Specific responsibilities include:

Marketing and Sales Customer Management

- Assist in the creation and implementation of the marketing/sales client acquisition strategies, in accordance with the ILRC Marketing and Communications plans, and annual work plan of the Education Team.

- Represent the ILRC at events.

- Provide customer service on a full range of client inquiries, including request for support or information about ILRC´s products and services, order status, and technical issues related to webinars.

- Support the launch of a social media program, including providing ideas/suggestions for topics, working with attorneys on content, creating a calendar, and updating social network sites.

Education, Seminar and Technical Assistance Program Coordination

- Support the work of ILRC attorney trainers, volunteer trainers, and the ILRC Marketing Manager.

- Function as the primary event coordinator for all ILRC educational events, including in-person seminars, live webinars, annual conferences, and affiliated programs such as the National Paralegal Training Program.

- Support the research, design and implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan for the seminar program including preparation and distribution of seminar calendar, website content updates, program information and all written collateral and electronic marketing materials, communications and promotions.

- Coordinate all logistical aspects of all training programs, including staffing on-site registration, sales support, and customer service.

- Interact with vendors, including facility rentals, printers, caterers, etc.

- Ensure quality customer relations by implementing evaluation tools and methods, including gathering and tracking customer feedback, answering customer inquiries, manage and respond to Education Program inquires line and provide referrals when appropriate.

- Maintain accurate record keeping and database systems including inputting and managing database entry, reporting, tracking seminar attendance, writing progress reports, etc. Maintain hard copy files as necessary.

- Assist with the management of Education program budget, track program revenue and expenses, and provide regular reports as requested.

- Research and keep abreast of trends in other educational systems and educational providers, networks, products and services.

- Facilitate website updates of new training class schedules.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

- Two years marketing communications experience preferred;

- Excellent communication, organizational and writing skills;

-Prior event coordination experience preferred, including ability to manage logistics for training events and conferences;

- Excellent problem solving skills;

- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as part of team, to be flexible and learn new skills quickly;

- Excellent computer skills and demonstrated effectiveness with social media, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator, Salesforce CRM, and content management systems. Some graphic design/layout experience is preferred;

- A self-starter who remains focused while working under deadlines and can still maintain a sense of humor;

- Ability to travel throughout the year (approximately 15%);

- Manage and work within budget and timeline goals, with an ability to complete work efficiently and communicate risks as appropriate;

- Understand and communicate well with staff, partners, consultants, and volunteers;

- Focus on priority work in the face of many demands on one´s time;

- Non-profit sector experience is a plus.

Pay is commensurate with experience.
