The Research Staff for the Mobile team at Samsung will,
· Lead research and strategy for the Mobile team to inspire advanced cross-discipline designs of products and services in the mobile space.
· Explore and initiate design projects to discover global user, market, service, and technology insights. Plan and manage analysis of research output to define high-level opportunities and develop strategies which provide design teams with direct, actionable insights.
· Develop product- and platform-level soft value design strategy for new business opportunities through cross-department collaboration.
· Participate in events to obtain knowledge of the newest industry-related issues and promote Samsung Design for design network expansion to maximize inter-industry relationship.
Requirements:
10+ years industry experience (both consultancy and in-house design is a plus).
Advanced degree in software engineering or UX planning is a plus.
Research/strategy project leadership experience in a multiple disciplinary environment.
Experience in understanding, observing, and evaluation North American users, technologies, services, aesthetics, and markets.
Experience in research framework development and creative workshop moderation.
Excellent problem-framing, opportunity-defining, and presentation skills.
Solid technical proficiency (Adobe CS5, MS Office, etc.).
Strong management skills with mentoring abilities.
Great communications, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Able to self-direct and be comfortable working under pressure and with creative design professionals.
International experience/cultural sensitivity preferred.
