Job Description:
The Executive Creative Director is charged with providing overall creative leadership for the company. This is a high profile role that touches everything from Branding, to advertising, events to corporate videos. The emphasis for this role is on leadership with a strong creative vision.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for creating, building and maintaining the company's creative reputation.
  • Works with Creative leads to develop creative programs and design concepts that meet the business objectives of the organization and that advance our brand strategy.
  • Ensure compliance to all creative department standards and manage all communication with senior management and the executive team.
  • Foster positive relationships between creative department and other functional areas. Encourage strong collaborative relationships with project owners and other stakeholders within and outside the organization.
  • Generate and promote awareness and communication of creative successes both internally and externally in order to articulate a clear creative vision internally and externally.
  • Constantly work to improve communication and processes necessary for optimum creative output.
  • Provide evaluation, mentorship, and counsel to direct reports. In conjunction with Creative Directors, determine assignments, promotions, incentives applicable to creative managers.
  • Create the optimum structure to provide effective, efficient development of creative assets.
  • Manage the professional growth of Creative Directors and Associate Creative Directors and mentor these leads to develop and grow their own teams.
  • Manage key administrative and financial aspects of the creative department.
Required Skills and Professional Attributes:
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Advertising, Marketing, and/or Journalism, Graphic Arts, Design and Communications.
  • Current Creative Director/Senior Creative Director with a minimum of 15+ years creative management experience, strong credentials in copywriting and/or art direction, and a positive track record in the development of successful, market-moving creative ideas. Strong strategic instincts.
  • Excellent communication mentoring, counseling, presentation and interpersonal skills and above all, leadership skills
  • Solid experience developing and evolving brand identity and positioning, ideally for a consumer brand. Online subscription business experience a plus
  • Experience working in a direct-response media environment across multiple channel executions, includes but not limited to DR TV, print, display, email, mobile, OOH and direct mail
  • Smart, analytical, creative, driven - "Gets it" and is able to deliver results quickly
  • Self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with individuals at all levels
  • Top level business management, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Able to form strong work teams, create positive and supportive culture
  • Driven to succeed by the company's core mission to help people discover, preserve and share their family history.
