Terex Corporation is a global business leader that manufactures a broad range of equipment for use in various industries, including the construction, infrastructure, and quarrying, recycling, surface mining, shipping, transportation, refining, utility and maintenance industries. The company operates in five business segments throughout the world: Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Terex Construction, Terex Cranes, Terex Materials Processing & Mining, and Terex Materials Handling & Port Solutions.

Role Description
The purpose of this key role within the Marketing team is to develop and execute marketing strategies and tactics that support and maximize market share objectives, product launches, branding efforts and profit targets for Terex Construction Americas and implementing marketing initiatives to localize the construction strategy (Compact and Heavy) across the region.

The role will have responsibility for the effective marketing of multiple product lines utilizing much of the marketing mix including advertising, promotions, sponsorships, product launches and PR, in addition to managing distributor support. Position will be based in Southaven, MS with significant travel in North America.

Responsibilities:

1. Define and develop regional marketing plans for region
• In liaison with Regional Sales Directors, business managers, define and develop marketing plans to help achieve unit sales revenue from region and deliver specific product focused objectives
• Define, monitor and drive implementation of marketing plans to support achievement of business objectives
• Support distributor "day to day" requests and participation at various local trade shows and events
• Define, monitor and drive specific product launches
• Budget management
2. Distributor Engagement (Heavy, Compact & Terex Fuchs)
• Continue to develop collaborative working relationship with distributor network across region, developing understanding of market requirements, competitive context, pricing positioning
• Ensure all distributors are conversant with marketing support available via portal; brand standards; details updated for CRM, etc.
• Achieve market visit quota of minimum 6 per year (with distributors to end customers); completion of market questionnaire (tbc)
• Define and implement distributor co-op marketing budget process
3. Rental Strategy for Compact Equipment
Define and implement key marketing actions to support focus on alternative channels to market in an effort to grow business, for example Rental for Compact Equipment, through close liaison with Regional Sales teams and VP.

4. Terex Fuchs through National Accounts
Define and implement key marketing actions to support focus growing Terex Fuchs sales through National Accounts, in close liaison with Regional Sales teams and VP.

5. Definition, Implementation and Evaluation of Sales Promotions / Finance Programs
• Develop regular sales promotions in conjunction with local business manager to deliver business goals
• Cascade sales promotions and campaigns to team in quarterly reviews or as required, ensuring all are conversant with the objectives and materials available
• Track and evaluate success metrics of all sales promotions and campaigns, identifying ROIC
6. Product positioning focus
Support development of value maps / positioning for key product groups in N American region through thorough understanding of market requirements, competitive context, pricing positioning, in conjunction with Product Management team members.

7. Communications
As part of commitment to build our brand, manage media/PR activity, source job stories, marketing materials, e-communication (social media, distributor portal, etc) and oversee TCA external communications. Adapt literature to reflect requirements of region.

8. Trade Shows
Act as lead on specific trade shows (eg ConExpo, ARA, AED and small local events), through development of timing plan, resource and budget management

9. Merchandise
Manage local promotional merchandise with external vendor, Merrill, with a view to minimizing inventory.

10.Market Analysis
Monitor market opportunities in the region in particular, growth signals, competitive activity and major projects


Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related topic; MBA or master's degree in related area preferred

Language Requirements

English is essential. Second language an advantage

Travel

Estimated travel is 35%.

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years marketing experience in roles of progressive leadership responsibility and scope; B2B experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of the construction industry and specific product (heavy construction equipment) knowledge strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and organize/complete multiple projects efficiently with strong attention to detail and to budget.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels effectively.
• Ability to collect, analyze numbers to provide meaningful conclusions from complex data.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
• Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel.
