The Creative Director will join the client’s Marketing & Communications department, with a team and award-winning designers, writers, producers and strategists who work hard every day. We are passionate about building a brand that resonates with our prospects, customers, investors and employees. The Creative Director will report directly to the CMO and will be responsible for driving the creative process throughout the department while inspiring and leading our creative team. Their goal will be to balance the right amount of process and structure to inspire out-of-the-box thinking.
The Creative Director will lead the client’s visual identity and consistency in messaging across all branding opportunities including but not limited to the following:
· Digital Marketing
· Email, Landing Pages, Website
· Publications
· E-Newsletters, Annual Report, Magazines
· Sales Collateral
· Product Slicks, Postcards, Stationary, Imprinted Items, Folders and Kits
· Content
· Blogs, White papers, Webinars, Podcasts, Infographics

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
- Use your leadership, coaching skills and eye for talent to develop a high-performing creative team.
- Become a The client expert storyteller by taking necessary product trainings and shadow our sales force to obtain a strong understanding of our product, value proposition and customer.
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, sales and senior leadership to translate business objectives into clear and compelling creative strategies.
- Develop a creative process to ensure all work meets deadlines, is error free and implemented across appropriate channels.
- Participate in generating big, creative ideas and lead the creative process from concept to completion.
- When needed, roll up your sleeves and help your team with writing, designing, editing and implementing.
- Empower and inspire the marketing, communications, creative and digital teams in creative thinking and brand expression to meet objectives and deliver quality work.
- Provide writers and designers clear creative direction with timely and helpful feedback that keeps project work on budget and on schedule.
- Establish brand storytelling to maintain a singular voice by collaborating with marketing, communications, digital and social media teams.
- Build brand standards and create processes to ensure all assets are brand appropriate.
- Ensure vendor adherence to brand standards.
- Oversee department daily workflow, allocate project workload and manage deadlines and budgets as needed for creative team.
- Build and maintain relationships with photographers, videographers, agencies, vendors and cross-functional teams.
- Understand our competition and ensure our brand stands out.
- Develop and foster relationships with others outside of our department to ensure consistent branding throughout the company.
- Stay informed on the latest platforms, creative trends and best practices to find good fits for improving our impact.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- A BA or higher in marketing or related field
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience with managing an in–house creative team, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines
- Ability to provide an online portfolio of work.
- A proven record of accomplishment for developing world-class multi-channel creative work and the ability to lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of creative professionals to do the same.
- Strong planning skills and proven experience in the development and management of integrated marketing campaigns.
- Strong understanding of B-to-B marketing on all platforms.
- Ability to develop and implement a creative process.
- A strong foundation in the fundamentals of visual design and the ability to discern great design and smart, compelling copy.
- Demonstrated copywriting ability for a variety of mediums:
- Advertising/marketing copy for print collateral
- Advertising/marketing copy for websites, email campaigns and web ads
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Script writing for presentations and videos
- Proven experience in contributing original and resourceful ideas and creative strategy.
- Ability to handle a number of high priority projects simultaneously and effectively.
- Ability to review and analyze a wide-variety of information and recommend specific action.
- Self-starter who is able to work independently.
- Self-educator, able to accumulate knowledge related to our clients and the products, services, industry, markets and resources affecting the payroll and HR technology space.
- Strong collaborator, able to drive execution by working well with others across the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with customers, prospects, colleagues and vendors.
10+ years of marketing management leading at least 3 direct reports
Candidate Details
10+ to 15 year’s experience
Managed creative process of mid to large sized technology company
- B2B marketing experience highly preferred
- Must have led a team of writers and designers
- Led a corporate creative environment (not looking for agency creative director who manages several projects)
