Position Summary:
My client is seeking a results-oriented QA Lead / Architect engineer who is self-motivated and can help drive the QA strategy for their core platform as well as do significant hands-on automation engineering.
The ideal candidate will thrive in and help drive a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have significant QA automation experience with complex enterprise software, ideally with high-availability, distributed systems and databases, have worked with agile software development processes, and possess strong communications skills. He/she will report to the Director of Engineering in Cambridge, MA.
Responsibilities:
· Refine QA strategy for the core database platform
· Work with the European SQL team to ensure the QA strategy covers overall product requirements
· Work with Product Management to understand release requirements and define test plans for features and releases
· Write and run automated tests
· Work with developers to drive quality upstream and to ensure testability.
· Help with staffing of other QA and Development engineers.
· Participate in design reviews
Required Skills and Competencies:
· 10+ years of QA experience
· 5+ years’ experience with test automation and test frameworks
· 5+ years’ experience with infrastructure/platform/distributed systems software.
· 5+ years’ experience with high-availability enterprise software
· 5+ years’ experience with Python and Java
· 3+ years’ experience with Databases (SQL or NoSQL)
· Experience with C++ a strong plus
· Strong Agile experience
· Experience with continuous integration and test driven development
· Cloud / SaaS experience a strong plus
· Ability to dive deep into technical issues.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
