Position Summary:
My client is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join their new Data Team. As the first member of the team, you will own BI & Data Analytics and help them lay the foundation for a modern BI Platform to get quick actionable insights into their products.
Responsibilities:
· Build a BI platform that helps gather data from multiple sources and transform it into actionable insights for the products
· Integrate with modern BI Tools like Looker or ChartIO to get the most out of data quickly
· Setup data source integrations to gather insights across multiple tiers and services
· Create reports that provide visibility and actionable insights for the business
· Instrument A/B testing to assess the performance and feasibility of new features
· Run statistical models such as applying linear models, outlier detection, & hypothesis testing
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
· 5+ years’ experience working with BI solutions and large data sets
· Deep knowledge of modern BI-As-A-Service platforms like Domo or TreasureData
· Deep expertise of BI tools like Looker, Tableau or similar
· Experience with AWS and Redshift
· Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB
· Experience with Event Analytics tools such as MixPanel or Segment
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
· Experience at a startup or tech company
· Experience building a BI platform from scratch and scaling it
