Position Summary:
My client is looking for a controls engineer to join their talented algorithm team and contribute to developing innovative code that will change the future of how vehicles drive. You will be participating in solving challenging problems in a complex control system that includes hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical components to control vehicle ride and handling for high-end customer applications.
Tasks will include developing, simulating, testing, and analyzing Simulink code both at the component and system level; creating and developing innovative algorithms within their control system; testing and analyzing subsystems in the vehicle and on test equipment such as a hydraulic dyno and a hydraulic flow bench; impact and accelerometer testing.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
As controls engineer, you will develop core algorithms for their “digital ride” control system.
Job responsibilities include:
· Developing next generation control software for their electrohydraulic actuators
· Conceive, simulate, implement, and test novel vehicle dynamics algorithms
· Conduct extensive field testing on high-end prototype vehicles (mules)
· Test and tune control loops
· Primarily development will occur in Matlab/Simulink, C and similar tools
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Engineering background in control theory, algorithms, feedback systems
· At least BS or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, software or similar engineering
· 2-5 years’ experience in controls development and/or system testing
· Experience with electromechanical systems
· Test and signal processing experience, HIL
· Strong experience with Matlab/Simulink
· Expertise in C
· Experience with automotive NVH is a plus
· Experience in AutoOS a plus
· Team player, passionate, confident, organized, driven
