Overview
We are a consulting company in search of experienced Business Change Managers for potential upcoming projects starting in the next 2 to 3 months. We expect to have multiple opportunities available and we are creating a "pool" of resources now in preparation for these upcoming Change Management engagements. The engagements are for large technology implementations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Change Manager (CM) will play a key role in ensuring that change activities meet objectives on time and on budget with a high degree of user adoption and satisfaction. The CM will focus on the people side of change with the primary responsibility of creating, implementing and executing to change management strategies/plans including the overall change management strategy, stakeholder engagement activities, readiness assessments, impact assessments action plans, communications, training, and resistance management.
The size and scope of the assigned project will determine the scope of CM deliverables. On smaller projects, the CM may actively participate in the executing of deliverables across the change effort, versus larger projects where the CM will ensure the team is executing appropriately.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Creates the overall Change Management strategy/plan and manages the activities for the assigned project or release
- Manages the change work plan and timeline and track the progress of change activities, facilitates reoccurring status meetings and report reoccurring status
- Creates (or collaborates on, depending on the size of the project), reviews refines all change deliverables, for all aspects of the change such as the Readiness, Communications and Training plans and activities
- Engages business IT project team members to ensure cross-team cross-functional collaboration and alignment, including the engagement of a "Change Network" when applicable
- Identifies and manages all change issues and risks
- Accountable for successful execution of change strategy, as defined by success measures/KPIs
- Provides assessments/inputs to support strategy and plan
- Engages and aligns project leadership and key stakeholders; develops and manages the stakeholder action plan, and manage/facilitate Executive Sponsor meetings
- Manages org readiness activities for overall initiative
- Prepares weekly status report
- Prepares readiness assessments summarize results
- Facilitates Pulse Checks and effectiveness measures
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience working in the area of change management utilizing change principles, methodologies, and tools
- Certification or experience with Prosci ADKAR® Model is a plus
- Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
- Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to clearly articulate/present messages to a variety of audiences
- Experience in planning change strategies and tactics
- Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
- Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
- Problem solving and root cause identification skills
- Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
- Must be able to work collaboratively with and through others
