The Role: Human Resource & Operations Manager

Living Direct is an online retail company, specializing in consumer appliances, indoor air quality products, and specialty items. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Living Direct encompasses a network of specialty eCommerce websites including CompactAppliance.com, LivingDirect.com, PortableAirShop.com, Kegerator.com, SimplyDehumidifiers.com, and HotWaterSource.com. The company also designs and manufactures two product brands, EdgeStar and KoldFront.
We are currently searching for a Human Resource & Operations Manager to act as our employee liaison and serve as the "face" of Living Direct for our employees. The Human Resource & Operations Manager will recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. They handle all onboarding, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviews. They are ultimately responsible for protecting and promoting the Company culture through regular communication and events. The Human Resource & Operations Manager will also manage all employee documentation including performance reviews/management, goal setting, training and disciplinary actions, as well as maintain and update employee policies and procedures and the company organization charts and directory. General human resource responsibilities include payroll, benefits administration and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, communications or related discipline
Three to five years of experience in the human resources field including experience with: payroll, employee relations, hiring, terminations, benefits, compliance and performance management
Some exposure to strategic human resource efforts and planning
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with ability to lead and motivate
Professional demeanor, self confident, authentic and trustworthy persona
Ability to function as a key team player and employee champion but also possess the capacity to manage difficult or sensitive situations
Big picture thinker with solutions-oriented thought processes
Organized and efficient
PHR certification desirable, but not required
