Senior RDBMS Engineer or Architect (distributed transaction management)
Job Summary;
We are looking for a talented RDBMS senior engineer or architect to work on the design and implementation of the distributed transaction component of a massive parallel processing database.
The project is a massive-scale parallel database for a large service environment, with data partitioning and distributed processing.
The ideal candidate must enjoy tackling technical challenges by creating innovative solutions.
The ideal candidate must have significant knowledge in database internal, database journaling, and transaction processing systems, combined with an ability to learn quickly. Other important attributes are versatility and a passion for building extremely high-quality, enterprise-class software systems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities;
Participate in the research and design of a state-of-the-art MPP database
Contribute significantly to key software architecture decisions
Develop proof-of-concept components
Write and maintain architecture and detailed design specifications
Form and/or lead a small engineering team to implement the product according to specifications
Work with product manager to ensure that the architecture design meets the product requirements
Work with QA manager to develop test specifications
Minimum Job requirements;
Proficient in C and C++
Experience in implementing RDBMS systems, particularly in the areas of journaling and distributed transaction management
Experience with the design and development of a transaction processing system
Experience with Postgresql is a plus
Must be a team player and capable of conducting independent research
Desirable to have good knowledge of parallel programming paradigms
Excellent documentation, organizational and communication skills
Self-motivated & detail-oriented
Minimum of BSCS or equivalent, with at least 5-10 years of relevant experience
