Responsibilities:

The Role:

The Director of Events will be responsible for developing the event marketing strategy and ensuring flawless execution and measurement of all events. Leading a small team, you will be responsible for planning, budgeting, reporting, and implementation of events and programs, including customer events, trade shows, conferences and other special events to drive awareness, thought leadership, and demand generation. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and a strong track record of managing the event function for technology companies. We are looking for a strong, creative, results-oriented leader that has a deep understanding of the end-to-end event lifecycle, with the knowledge of the latest marketing trends and event best practices. You will also lead the key stakeholders for our annual user conference to align on core messaging, content, customer experience and extension to regions as appropriate.

At MobileIron, this leader will play a key role in our global marketing team, reporting to the Sr. Director, Customer Acquisition, Events & Partner Marketing. The right candidate will have excellent cross-functional project leadership skills, a deep understanding of the event process, a strong ability to forge relationships with sales, strong communication skills and a stellar track record of results. Responsibilities:
•Create the overall event strategy that aligns with the company and marketing goals.
•Define, identify and execute events that drive measurable demand generation results to increase revenue through direct and indirect sales teams.
•Work with product marketing, marketing and sales leaders to shape event and themes for events strategy on a quarterly basis.
•Evaluate, select and manage outside vendors and service providers as appropriate that contribute to event marketing programs including event management firms, direct marketing agencies, designers, copywriters, registration tools and event giveaway vendors.
•Work with the three global regions to develop and execute demand programs that meet their requirements.
•Working cross functionally, you will define and execute on the program goals, messages, audience generation/email campaigns, speaker plan, collateral, event website and registration, and event logistics.
•Propose creative ideas and themes, research and recommend events by providing target audience, cost estimates, ROI, competitors, partners, etc.
•Manage event costs, maintain event programs budget, and provide detailed budget analysis and post event report and postmortem results.
•Develop and coordinate pre and post show event marketing strategies, manage leads, and develop post event reports and analysis to determine effectiveness of each event as well as recommendations for the future.
•Develop and maintain a project calendar, which consists of all customer events, corporate events, trade shows, special events, and internal events.
•Communicate with all appropriate cross-functional teams regarding events such as: meeting/trade show overview, timelines, requirements, messaging, pre/post event meetings, etc.

Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree in Marketing or related field.
• 10+ years of event planning/management experience, preferably in high technology
• Agency experience working with a range of clients is not required but is considered good experience
• Excellent communicator with proven ability to clearly convey ideas and data in written and verbal presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Exceptional organizational skill with the ability to run multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated skills in positioning and differentiating products and services.
•Team player with strong people management and cross-functional project leadership skills.
• Highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment and is readily adaptable to changing market and organizational requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail: ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in parallel.
• Budget management is a requirement.
• Intellectually curious, flexible, and open to learning and new ideas
