[KITlist] Director of Communications (Mandarin required) (Sunnyvale, CA)

We are hiring a Director of communications for our client in Sunnyvale.

Responsibilities include:

Define and maintain our client's brand.

Lead brand positioning strategy, targeted primarily at a global audience, while being cognizant of its effects on our investors and users.

Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance company brand identity, broaden awareness of its programs and priorities, and increase the visibility of its research and technology.

Create public relations strategy that will allow company to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including media and key influencers.

Develop and execute communications strategy.

Source and globally disseminate stories about our client's technology, including work from both China and US-based teams.

Lead and manage our US social media, email, and other communications. Partner with Beijing-based International Communications team to manage media opportunities..

Work with our recruiting function to develop brand.

Thought leadership:

Identifying and executing on opportunities to share company vision in appropriate media outlets.

Act as a spokesperson or evangelist on specific areas, and speak with accuracy and authority in delivering company message. This includes public speaking, responding to media questions, telling our stories, conveying company mission, values, and culture, and communicating the evolving story of company.

Develop university outreach program, targeted toward faculty and students.

Manage a small (2-3 person) team to support of this work.

Qualifications | You should have:

Native-level fluency in English.

Basic proficiency or better in Mandarin Chinese, at a level sufficient to have a business conversation.

Ability to think creatively and strategically about communications and PR.

A very strong execution ability. The Chinese internet ecosystem moves incredibly quickly, so we value the ability to hustle, to respond quickly, and to accomplish large amounts of work in a short time.

Experience building up and leading a communications organization.

3+ years of experience in corporate PR.

The following additional qualifications are nice to have:

Experience working in a high-growth environment.

Experience with data and metrics-driven approaches to PR.

Experience with technology PR.
