Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is looking for a full time/permanent Director of Events for our technology client in San Francisco, CA. Our client is a marketing-driven company and more specifically, a very events-driven company. The Director of Events needs to be a talented and creative individual to help lead the strategic events programs, focusing on their single biggest event of the year.
This event is the largest industry event of its kind, with over 170,000 registrants and millions of online viewers every year heading into its 14th year in San Francisco.
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned, experienced, multi-talented marketing leader who can wrangle thousands of moving parts, have oversight on all essential conference elements and lead a cross-functional team to success. This senior role is immersed in our clients' brand, bringing it to life in a flawless attendee experience.
Responsibilities:
This leadership position is very hands-on in the day-to-day strategy, management and execution of the entire Dreamforce program including:
Event strategy: help shape the agenda, key programs overall event strategy
Speaker talent management: engage manage Keynote speakers
Speaker talent management: engage manage Keynote speakers
Financial management: get deep into the complex financial planning, tracking reporting
Resource planning team management: work on creating the right blend of world class talent across FTEs, contractors agencies
Vendor strategy management:
Develop manage deep relationships with the best mix of vendors agencies for the event
Communication with internal stakeholders executives: have the confidence to set executive expectations and influence decision making while managing multiple internal stakeholder groups
Analysis reporting of key success metrics: understand what makes this event successful be ready with the data to prove it
Operational infrastructure: be a key player in building maintaining the machine that drives the largest software conference on earth to continued success
Skills:
15+ years in marketing with focus on strategic events
Management experience with large B2B or B2C events
Speaker and content experience, ranging from securing top-tier keynote speakers to forging a content strategy for hundreds of breakout sessions across multiple tracks
Agency management experience, ideally with some of the leading event and experiential marketing agencies in the world. Bonus points for a strong network in this area
Hands-on management and accountability with significant program budgets, ideally with revenue streams such as registration and sponsorships
Gravitas to lead cross-functional steering committee meetings and engage with teams and stakeholders who deliver critical elements
An understanding of event audience acquisition and how to hit registration goals and attendance targets
Deep comfort level with program analysis, measurement, reporting and pipeline impact
You are collaborative, proactive, creative, entrepreneurial, have a healthy appetite for feedback, and thrive in high-pressure situations
You have a sense of humor and the ability to walk on a high wire with your feet on the ground.
Salary: Full time/permanent/salaried employee of client. Competitive total compensation package D.O.E., w2.
Location: This position is fully onsite at clients' office in San Francisco, CA. No phone calls, please.
