Summary/Purpose of role:

The Regional Marketing Manager (RMM) drives International outbound marketing activities across the Americas (USA/Canada/Latin America) for the company. The Americas RMM will develop and deliver strategic marketing plans, based on available research and an understanding of market/technology trends and the competitive landscape, that will effectively position Aviat Networks, their technology, products, solutions and services.
The role forms a critical interface between Sales and (where applicable) Channel Partners, and corporate Marketing functions, including Corporate Marketing and PR, Product Marketing Management (PMM), Product Line Management (PLM), IP Solutions teams. The RMM
The RMM will develop, create and execute on programs and campaigns, and contribute to a wide variety of external communications channels that fuel position as a thought leader. The RMM must be able to grasp and translate technical features and capabilities into compelling value propositions and benefits, craft high level messaging and positioning, and work with Corporate Marketing team to incorporate this into sales and marketing materials.
The RMM will provide the Marketing lead for planning and execution of new selected product introductions and releases within the region, including formulation of a Product Introduction Plan, messaging and positioning, and working with PLM and Corporate Marketing on launch materials and collateral.
This is a key position, providing an important interface between the international sales teams and the Corporate Marketing organization, and will require careful coordination and liaison to provide necessary sales support while also meeting corporate market planning objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• New Market Development:
o Lead the identification and development of new regional market opportunities, particularly non-mobile, including but not limited to Public Safety, Utility, Financial sectors.
• Key Account penetration and support:
o Support development of new key accounts, including preparation and delivery of pitches, presentations, seminars and targeted marketing material and campaigns.
• New Product Development and Introduction:
o Provide leadership and input for new product introduction planning and execution on a regional basis, working with PLM/PMM.
o Work with IP Solutions team regarding identification, prioritization and marketing to key targets for introduction of the new Aviat Packet portfolio of products.
o Participate in and contribute to the development of new technology and product strategies and plan, as it applies to regional market requirements
o Provide the Marketing lead for selected new product introductions, including planning, messaging, positioning collateral development and promotions.
• Develop and execute regional marketing plans and campaigns:
o Drive marketing efforts in region to align with plan
o Create and execute at least 2 comprehensive marketing campaigns per quarter
• Support Corporate Marketing Programs:
o Recommend and support key tradeshows, conferences and seminars
o Focus Public Relations and Industry Analyst activities around key regional objectives and initiatives
o Investigate, recommend and support Aviat seminars, webinars, advertising, branding and other promotional programs
• Regional Sales Support:
o Organize and (where appropriate) deliver Market and Product Training
o Identify, define and outline and deliver key tools and collateral
o Develop and execute sales specific campaigns – at least 1 per quarter
• Regional Product Positioning and Marketing:
o Create product positioning, differentiation, key messaging as required on a regional basis.
o Provide market and competitive positioning expertise for sector
o Determine, prioritize and communicate key regional customer requirements as input for product and technology development plans.
o Understand and communicate key regional trends and focus areas.
• Administrative Duties
o Create Weekly Activity management reports
o Attendance at weekly conference calls and team meetings

Qualifications:
• A relevant tertiary qualification is essential for this position, i.e. bachelor degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, technology, or engineering.
• A master's degree such as an MBA is an advantage, but not essential.

Experience
• Very strong written communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in technical sales or marketing role in the Telecommunications Equipment market.
• Understanding of Marketing Communications tools and techniques used to engage and influence customers, including online and Social Media.
• A good working knowledge of fixed/mobile network communications technologies, such as mobile radio access network (RAN), fiber/microwave transport, and/or Ethernet/IP networking is a distinct advantage.
• Willingness to undertake international travel on a regular basis (minimum 25%).
