Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sybase DBA to work in Troy, MI on a contract supporting our Fortune15 financial industry client. Only W2 candidates will be considered.
Description:
Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company's Sybase databases. Implements database designs, resolves database performance issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Experience working in Financial Services Industry is a big plus.
Looking for a mid-level Sybase DBA with 5-7 years of experience and proficiency in the following categories:
- Sybase ASE 15.x and Replication Server 15.x Administration
- Design and Implementation of backup and recovery as well as disaster recovery solutions
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting database issues including root-cause analysis
- Capacity planning and developing strategic solutions for business problems including working with engineering team to help with testing of new features and versions
- Provide technical consultations to application teams with in-depth knowledge of the technology
- Manage all aspects of database security including processes for implementation and remediation
Expertise in one or more of the following:
- Sybase ASE 12.5.x/15.x and Replication Server 12.x/15.x
- Sybase IQ 12.x/15.x Administration and Concepts
- Experience with shell scripts and Perl programming to be able to make improvements to existing scripts
- Knowledge of OS and SAN/NAS Storage Concepts
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Work under minimal supervision and experience managing large scale and complex systems in a highly dynamic environment is a plus
