Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to research, diagnose, and provide permanent solutions to a variety of Oracle database issues we are currently encountering. We will also need assistance with Oracle upgrades from 10G to 11G on different platforms, including ASM and Oracle cluster ware upgrades.

· Excellent analytical skills on a variety of Oracle platforms (Linux, Solaris, AIX, VMware, clustered servers) and products (RMAN, Oracle RAC, ASM.), including experience with terabyte databases.
· Experience with database design, SQL Tuning, security management, backup and recovery using RMAN, and shell scripting in UNIX environments for problem research/resolution. Experience with Oracle 10g to 11g upgrade processes and in-depth knowledge of potential issues caused by the upgrade.
· Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants or managers, and follow bank policies and procedures to implement problem solutions.
Qualifications:
· Good working knowledge of Oracle and a few years of experience providing DBA support for medium to large Oracle databases 200G 1T+
· Needs to have excellent Oracle troubleshooting skills. This position will be primarily researching a variety of problems with existing databases and providing permanent solutions in order to reduce our excessive number of problem calls.
· Experience with database design, SQL Tuning, security management, backup and recovery using RMAN, database upgrades, and shell scripting in a UNIX environment
· Good working knowledge and some experience working with ASM and Oracle RAC.
· Experience with Exadata would be a plus, but not a requirement.
· Understanding of clustered server configurations and how failover works in a clustered environment (for support of the legacy Client servers).
· Understanding of VMware concepts and issues (our current CHP environments).
