Please direct your responses to: Job_COMM@ilrc.org

(v1.08 - 1447084443) - The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) is a leader in immigration policy, law, and community advocacy. For more than 35 years, the ILRC has provided invaluable resources and tools to improve the quality of life for immigrants in the United States.

At the ILRC, we believe that immigrants have a right to participate in a democratic society that values diversity and the rights of all people—and that our democracy is strengthened because of that participation. We work with immigrants, community organizations, legal professionals, law enforcement, and policy makers to build a democratic society that values diversity and the rights of all people. Through community education programs, legal training and technical assistance, and policy development and advocacy, the ILRC's staff of legal experts works to protect and defend the fundamental rights of immigrant families and communities.

Immigration policy in the United States is complex, and is often woefully outdated. The ILRC's goal is to make sure that immigrant communities are aware of their rights and able to effectively advocate for themselves, their families, and their communities. We aim to make sure that the lawyers who defend immigrants, the policy makers who write and pass immigration law, and the judges who make immigration-related decisions understand the full impact of their work and are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to do their jobs. We also work with advocacy groups and community organizers to help them develop and hone their work to improve the lives of immigrants.

The ILRC has a staff of 33, and an annual budget of over $9M. Our main office is in San Francisco and we have a policy office in Washington D.C. The Communications Manager would work out of our San Francisco office.

A seasoned collaborator in the national immigrant rights network, the ILRC has established excellent partnerships with many key organizations, and is a trusted ally and team player in critical collaborative work. We are often consulted for technical background information on casework, and often called upon for major questions of immigration law. We are conveners, educators, technical experts and resources for government officials, advocates, attorneys, and direct service providers.
