Marketing/Sales Operations Analyst (Data Analyst) Role Description

Full-time; 40 hours per week.

Starting as soon as possible

$60 per hour

Minimum 6 months; most likely one year.

May work from home with weekly visits to the client office in Palo Alto.

Responsibilities:

[Client] is looking for a data/business analyst that is not only good with systems and modeling numbers, but can also shed light on the meaning of the numbers. This collaborative analyst is responsible for learning how to pull bookings, funnel, campaign and other data from the client's various systems, building analyses that uncover nuances about sales and marketing performance and trends, and creating charts and other visuals that clearly communicate key findings that should be brought to the attention of marketing management. This consultant will work with a variety of teams, ranging from IT systems analysts to marketing management; they must be able to work across a diverse set of personalities and become an integral team player. Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Deliver weekly and quarterly dashboards and/or reports

• Deliver as-needed/quarterly pipeline, portfolio and campaign reports for management review

• Deliver macro commentary on weekly and quarterly dashboards and/or reports

• Deliver as-needed/quarterly financial, statistical and economic analysis on bookings, campaign funnel and opportunity pipeline data to support strategic planning

• Deliver analytical support for the quarterly business review with Executive Leaders

• Partner with portfolio and campaign managers to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness their programs

Skills/experience requirements:

• 3+ years experience analyzing sales and/or marketing operations data

• Proven ability to interpret sales and/or marketing operations data and clearly communicate implications of the analyses on the business

• Demonstrated understanding of the operations of sales funnels, booking mechanisms, marketing campaign metrics and other sales/marketing operational elements

• Past experience communicating analytical findings to management

• Past experience working with IT teams and systems, particularly sales and marketing systems, to pull data for analyses

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint user that can independently structure analysis and plot charts/graphs that communicate key findings

• Strong written communication abilities and presentation skills

• Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills as demonstrated through the ability to maintain good working relationships

• Track record of managing projects, time and people efficiently. Fast executor. A self-starter.

• Broad marketing background with experience with marketing strategies, product marketing, branding, and/or field marketing a plus.
