This contract role would start Monday, February 20 and will run through Friday, June 9 (The event is May 30– June 1), and would be W-2 (no way around that, unfortunately…Visa has very stringent policies regarding consultants/contractors).

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The ideal candidate will have an expertise in B2B event marketing management at the Sr. Manager level (at least 10 years of experience).

CyberSource is seeking a detail-oriented event marketing manager to act as the event director for our annual customer conference, the 2017 CyberSource Payment Management Summit. The event manager will be responsible for all event marketing, logistics and operations -- and for ensuring the event is executed seamlessly. The event manager will report to the Sr. Director of Marketing Programs, and work closely with Product Marketing, Marketing Operations, Sales, and Customer Success teams.

Duties and Responsibilities
Act as the event director for our annual customer conference, the 2017 CyberSource Payment Management Summit. Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content Creation
• Responsible for the copy creation for all customer facing materials, and ensuring all customer-facing communications are delivered seamlessly and on-time
• Manage the relationship with the creative agency to ensure quality and on-brand creation of all event deliverables and creative such as: opening video, email invitations, agenda, signage, mobile app
• Ensure seamless execution of the event's mobile app---work closely with the creative agency and the Marketing Operations team to deliver the creative and content needed
• Own all internal staff communications regarding the event
• Manage the demo pod exhibits (coordinate all of their components---creative design, furniture, structure, audio visual, and staff)

Project Management
• Own and manage the overall project plan
• schedule and lead and all planning meetings with key stakeholders in Sales, Customer Success and Marketing teams
• Manage all aspects of the mainstage speakers and presentations
• Coordinate the logistics for breakout sessions
• Coordinate all aspects of the event meals and breaks including the off-site dinner
• Delegate onsite staffing responsibilities, assign a clear schedule and duties
• Negotiate with and mange vendors including the hotel, A/V production team, DMC, and creative agency
• Manage the hotel room block
• Keep a detailed event budget and ensure billing accuracy
• Adhere to all corporate event policies and procedures
• Manage the post-event customer survey
• Create a 360 post-event report providing an overview of performance

Necessary Skills
• Ability to inspire confidence and lead meetings with senior leaders from cross-functional departments
• Excellent writing skills
• Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail
• Ability to execute in a high paced, deadline driven environment
• Clear, thoughtful and succinct communicator
• Self-motivated with the ability to define goals and prioritize your own work
• Manage large hotel room blocks and meeting space
• Managing multiple vendors, negotiate pricing and contracts
• An aptitude to grasp new programs and technology quickly

Required Qualifications:
• 10+ years of work experience managing large, curated corporate events, preferably for a technology or B2B company
• Ability to travel as needed (including to New Orleans May 29 - June 2)
• Ability to work as needed in both Foster City and San Francisco offices
• Experience with Salesforce and Cvent
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Minimum of a BA/BS in Business, Communications or Hospitality Management or related field

About the 2017 CyberSource Payment Management Summit

CyberSource has held an annual Americas customer summit for the past 15 years. The Summit brings together the top CyberSource customers from the Americas region. The event is held at the request of Sales, with the objective of sharing thought leadership and solution plans, facilitating networking among customers, and creating an intimate environment that promotes business discussion and focused engagement (versus "conference" or "tradeshow" environment). The Summit begins with a one-day Latin America customer meeting, followed by a 1.5 day summit for both Latin America and North America region customers. Last year it was held at The Breakers in Palm Beach, CA. Prior to The Breakers this event was held at The Montage in Laguna Beach, CA for four years.
