In this position, the individual will ensure the integrity and validity of the overall portfolio management view of the company and will work cross-functionally to continually validate the analysis of SanDisk's products, businesses, markets and competition incorporated in the company's Portfolio view. In support of the Director of the team, this individual will manage phase reviews and discussions of overall funding allocations and continuation of various projects in the broad context of the company's portfolio. Additionally this individual will work cross functionally to develop and implement the next generation systems of portfolio management. Analyze and validate the assumptions underlying individual projects brought forward to IDB for consideration – this requires cross functional partnership with finance, marketing, operations, and R&D to ensure that the data presented are updated with the latest valid assumptions. Compare and contrast various projects and product developments in the context of broad SanDisk portfolio. Create and maintain a set of portfolio views by which executive management can see shifts in revenue and profit generation and enable decision making in the context of available funding. Prepare quarterly presentation to Strategic Council with insightful portfolio views. Analyze data to explain historical or forecasted trends and recommend action. Perform various analyses to show how R&D investments should be made to maximize future profits. Maintain and update the schedule for phase reviews and periodical analysis of on-going projects for continuation decision making. Maintain and update the total multi-year funding required for all the projects in the portfolio. Work with various finance, IT and R&D teams to develop by the end of 2012 the next generation portfolio and project management tools that enable a dynamic, historical and forecasted view of SanDisk portfolio of products and projects.

This position requires a BS/BA degree in a quantitative field, plus 10 years of related experience. MBA from a top-tier business school preferred or related experience in marketing and finance. The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment; must be self-motivated and self-directed, but with a strong team ethic. The individual must have the abilities to work effectively cross-functionally, coordinate priorities and initiatives, troubleshoot and analyze complex problems, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. This position reports directly to Senior Director of Finance of the CTO organization and is a member of the SVP Operations Finance staff. This position will have a dotted line responsibility to Senior Director of Portfolio Management in the Strategy group.
