IT Applications Engineer
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position will plan, conduct and coordinate IT projects in order to meet requirements established by the business teams. The ideal candidate would work across all departments which includes, finance, human resources, marketing, and etc to develop workflow analysis around each business unit. Communication with HQ IT resources will be required to assist with the development of IT requirements through deployment of system application.
In addition, he or she will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our current business applications. Training sessions may be needed to help assist users with these applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Facilitates, reviews and prioritized IT application requirements from business requirements
· Optimize existing system and/or requirement for new systems
· Gather requirement from raw user data and translate into IT system requirements
· Envisions and recommends innovative ideas to the solution
· Design solutions based off of the requirements
· Present project proposals, progress updates and status results to upper management
· Acquire IT resources from Headquarters or local vendors to initiate IT projects
· Coordinate project operation, including project kick-off meetings, progress notification, weekly meeting and other project related activities
· Must be able to manage resources to ensure project go live is on-time
· Escalate the issue to management team so that the issue can be resolved quickly
· Perform system testing of internal applications
· Conduct training sessions for users to use company systems
· Support IT application related issues
· Develop project documentation which includes, IT requirements, project plans, functional design, technical design, process diagrams, user manuals, training guides, etc.
· Develop small IT tools using SharePoint, SQL Server, .Net or VBA (office) etc when necessary;
· Performs other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Certifications/Licenses:
Minimum: B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related fields
Preferred: MIS or related fields
Relevant Work Experience:
· The relevant work experience would include 5 years of applications programming management or project management experience along with3 years IT applications management experience.
· Strong business and management skills as well as excellent communication skills are required.
· Experience in working with functional management and other technical staff to accomplish business objectives.
· Experience with company engagements such as sales/development of carrier class wireless or optical telecom equipment.
· Previous experience with multinational/multi-language enterprises would be a plus.
Skills (Technical or General):
· General knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Presentation skills among small audiences
· Documentation and writing skills
