Do you enjoy event planning and working with non-profit organizations? Do you have a passion for carrying the mantra of customer service to all corners of your world? If so, our start-up firm, Matches That Matter may be the place for you.

Matches That Matter is an activity-based service geared to singles over 40. This is NOT an online dating service. Our approach, unique and low-pressure, focuses on assembling small groups of compatible men and women to meet, work together on community projects and get to know each other in a comfortable, natural way.

Because a large component of our service offering involves partnerships with not-for-profits in the community, we're also social entrepreneurs.

The Right Person will:

• Actively cultivate relationships with local non-profits and develop selection criteria for the organizations selected as client activity sites; includes identifying and approving the activities, sites and projects for clients' participation.
• Visit non-profit sites and be responsible for coordinating all of the activities that members will participate in.
• Handle the logistics of booths at expos and other business acquisition locations.
• Manage the on-site hosts for each group event.
• Track, report on and evaluate effectiveness of programs.
• Plan special events and parties.
• Implement the highest level of quality service standards and ongoing service improvements for member satisfaction and retention.


The Right Person will have:

• High integrity, demonstrating friendliness and clarity while communicating the mission, vision and benefits of our program to prospective and current
• Strong organizational skills combined with a "get it done" approach
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with tact, professionalism, persuasiveness and follow through.
• Passion for organization and a high attention to detail.
• Ability to supervise activity hosts, interviewers and others directly involved with the members.
• Experience working with Salesforce.com or other Customer Relationship Management tools.
• Cares about helping friends (or yourself) deal with the difficulties of meeting others in the Bay Area, giving back to your community and fully contributing to your company.
• Experience working in a start-up would be very helpful.
