[JimsJobs] Production Test Engineer, Santa Clara County

Our client is a fabless semiconductor startup that has developed a programmable analog signal processing platform that provides substantial gains in performance and reductions in power consumption and cost (by factors of over 10x), compared to digital signal processing platforms. The first suite of products from our client, implemented in a standard CMOS process, is targeted at the wireless cellular infrastructure market and enables operators and system OEMs to deploy cellular networks at greatly reduced power, complexity, and cost.

Our client is currently a revenue-stage company with a growing roster of customers. It is privately held, and its investors include August Capital, Sevin Rosen, Kleiner Perkins, and Ridgewood Capital.

PRODUCTION TEST ENGINEER

Our client is seeking an experienced and energetic IC Test Engineer for hands-on development of production test for RF System-on-Chip (SoC), analog and digital mixed-signal devices. Responsibilities include implementation of test methods, systems and programs, hardware design, development of test programs for characterization, quality and production, and establishing ATE to bench correlation. The position will interact significantly with both the operations and design organizations.

Job Duties

  • Develop and qualify ATE test software for use in production testing and IC characterization using a structured, documented programming approach
  • Develop Test Hardware for ATE multisite production testing, including RF board layout and high frequency socket selection. Manage PCB subcontractors to deliver and qualify ATE DUT boards with proper RF and digital layouts on schedule
  • Work with System, and Design engineering teams in the early stages of IC design to define production and characterization testing strategies, including BIST and DFT
  • Correlate ATE and bench test results, develop and qualify test programs
  • Work with Design Engineering on initial design verification of the IC on ATE
  • Support transfer of new products to production, including working with Quality and Product Engineering for the development of qualification and reliability test programs
  • Monitor and maintain yield after release to production
  • Document test programs, test plans and test procedures
  • Reduce cost by improving yield, reducing test time, ROA

Job Requirements

  • Solid understanding of analog mixed signal test methods (ADCs, DACs, PLLs) as well as digital vector implementation (SCAN, MBIST)
  • Demonstrated experience working on a CatalystRF tester or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience and manufacturing discipline working in a high volume production IC test environment
  • Ability to read and understand device block diagrams and performance from Design Engineering
  • Hands-on test and debugging experience
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and work well in a team environment
  • Must be self driven, working independently with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and achieve business objectives
  • BSEE/MSEE degree (MS preferred) and at least 8 years of progressive, professional experience in semiconductor mixed-signal IC production testing
