Maxim Integrated, a Fortune 1000 company located in San Jose, California, seeks a Senior Graphic Designer to create a broad array of print and online corporate marketing deliverables. We seek a collaborative, creative individual who has great design sensibilities, excellent communication skills and can independently juggle dozens of projects and tight deadlines without losing their sense of humor. The ideal candidate is an expert in all aspects of graphic design and is well versed in corporate branding in the tech industry.
Position Description
As a member of the Creative Services team, you will:
• Be a brand expert. Understand Maxim's branding guidelines and apply them in a thoughtful, consistent manner to all deliverables. Interpret the guidelines for new applications and make design decisions that will reinforce and support the corporate visual ID.
• Work with other in-house creatives to brainstorm and develop visual concepts that are relevant, fresh, and support the brand. Create preliminary comps; present and discuss your concepts, and apply feedback to improve/develop concepts.
• Interact with internal clients (marketing, corporate finance, accounting, business management, and senior management) to ensure that printed marketing programs are executed to plan. Major projects include coordinated sales collateral and marketing campaigns, trade shows/events, print and online advertising, as well as occasional special projects such as campus branding or internal programs.
• Create and update corporate design templates with new specifications. Work with employees to ensure that logos and templates are used correctly.
• Work with print vendors to obtain competitive pricing and maintain a high standard of final printed pieces. Stay within a defined budget, and ensure that all aspects of the program operate effectively, on schedule, and represent the company in a positive way.
• Evaluate costs to ensure programs are operating cost effectively, manage and maintain budgets, assist with quarterly forecasts and recommend procedural changes when needed. Take an active role in recommending improvements for better efficiencies and cost savings
• Produce clean files for final production within given deadlines. Prepare thorough and accurate file releases for vendors.
• Manage digital assets on servers and online archives.
Key Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Graphic Arts or Marketing
• 7+ years working as designer in corporate marketing or advertising
• Excellent concepting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent design skills, including the effective use of color, composition, and typography
• Love of creative collaboration; able to provide constructive feedback and take direction well
• Expert in developing and maintaining corporate identities, business systems, and enterprise-level brand assets.
• Expert in developing and working within templates for corporate, marketing, online and campaign materials
• Experience in working in B-to-B high tech
• Expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator CS5 and Acrobat, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. HTML and CSS a plus.
• A solid working knowledge of the printing process and preparing files for print.
• Excellent attention to detail and able to manage projects from concept through to completion.
• Strong time management skills; able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Able to communicate effectively in person and in writing
• A professional demeanor, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
