Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a seasoned Consumer Technology Writer for a design centered technology company in Newark, CA.
We are looking for a freelance writer with a talent for translating sometimes-complicated consumer and business technology language into precise, lightly-branded, user-friendly content.
The ideal candidate will have technical writing experience for design centered consumer electronics companies with an emphasis on simple user centered instructions.
Responsibilities:
Translate complicated consumer technology language into precise lightly-branded, user-friendly language
Write and proof an online setup and user guide for a cool new consumer product
Ability to write fast, takes feedback, and iterate quickly
Skills:
5+ years of technical writing experience (must include consumer technology)
Portfolio of outstanding consumer technical writing samples for leading consumer technology brands
UI/UX or usability testing experience a plus
Demonstrable experience developing logical hierarchies of complex systems and processes
Passion for consumer technology and best in-class technical writing
Experience and willingness to collaborate with designers and project managers
Fanatical about technical accuracy, writing style, and proofing
Self organized, self motivated, team friendly player
Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, or equivalent work experience
Pay:
D.O.E., as a 1099 Contract
Location:
Remote/WFH/Virtual/Telecommute or onsite at client offices in Newark, CA.
Hours/duration:
Part-time with potential for ongoing part-time work
