Position Summary:
As member of the Investor & Portfolio Technology Application Development Team, this individual will be responsible for design, architecture, development and maintenance of Middle Office applications within Performance & Benchmark Technology group.
The individual will participate in all development activities to successfully deploy new systems and enhancements, and work with colleagues and end users to design, develop and implement solutions to meet business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
· Lead the design, implementation, deployment, and support efforts across all Investment Performance Measurement & Attribution applications
· Work with business team members, project managers/analysts, other software engineers to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans.
· Design, prototype and author code for software components and applications based on functional specification and optimize them for system performance.
· Ensure the adherence to established code-quality standards within the Performance & Attribution development and QA teams, such as Continuous Integration, Code Reviews, and all required release documentation.
· Work across teams such as with middleware, database, and architecture teams to coordinate and facilitate production releases of Performance & Attribution applications.
· Author technical design, and support documentation
Required Skills and Competencies:
· 7+ years of software development and design experience
· 7+ years of development experience in Core Java including multi-threading
· 5+ years demonstrated experience developing web applications and services using SPRING, JDBC, JMS, and JavaScript
· 2+ years of experience in working with project managers in planning for the deliverables of the development team
· Proven experience in leading technical design of a system or major components of a larger system
· Proven experience in leading development teams delivering quality products on time
· Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
· Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Experience with JSON, XML, UNIX/Linux, and AngularJS is preferred
· Must be comfortable working with Oracle databases, and possess solid SQL skills
· PL/SQL skills are preferred, but not a must
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
· Financial industry knowledge is preferred
Keys to this Position:
1) Very strong hands-on experience on core Java, web development, JMS, multithreading, and web services
2) Experience working on Spring, RDBMS will be a huge plus
3) Experience with UI development using JQuery, AngularJS is preferred
4) Excellent Communication skills are required
5) Financial services experience is preferred, but not required
