Position Summary:
The Reference Data team is responsible for providing state of the art reference market data capabilities to all the firm’s areas including Investment Teams. The team plays a critical role in our firm’s success by providing innovative solutions for highly complex and critical investment decision-making process.
Responsibilities:
· Work closely with Reference Data Engineering and Business Analyst teams to develop new and advance existing tools, involving both backend processing engines and UI components.
· Ability to work independently with one or more business analysts and team of consultants to deliver business solutions
· Partner with in-house application and data architects while implementing systems requirements.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· 7+ years of experience as a Software Developer supporting large application development life cycles
· Firm grasp of Object Oriented concepts and fundamental design patterns with practical implications
· Demonstrated experience of Design and Development using Java based technologies.
· In-depth knowledge and experience of the Spring Framework.
· Strong understanding and proven experience with technologies such as RESTful web services, XML/XSLT, JSON are required.
· Strong understanding and experience of Messaging Framework esp. using JMS
· Understanding and experience with building performance (Speed and Accuracy) critical applications is required.
· Experience with web applications and JavaScript frameworks including jQuery, Bootstrap, or Angular is desired.
· Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
· Must possess SQL tuning skills and working knowledge on Oracle or similar database.
· Experience with AWS is a definite plus.
· Must be comfortable with test driven development and Continuous Integration (JUnit, Jenkins, Code Coverage)
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline (Master’s Degree is Preferred)
· Experience in Financial Industry is highly preferred
