Position Summary:
The Portfolio Services Common Tools team is responsible for looking across all the projects and teams within Portfolio Services IT and Business units for areas where IT solutions can provide efficiency by reducing redundancy, providing better visibility and consolidating the tools and technologies used to solve similar problems. Some of the immediate areas identified for providing solutions are: Automating Business Workflows, Managing Repository Metadata, Managing data exceptions and data validations, and Advanced Information Delivery leveraging interactive reporting tools.
Members of the team play critical roles in our firm’s success by providing technology solutions which improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of a highly complex industry with a sophisticated client base.
Responsibilities:
· Work with various teams and stakeholders to understand the business workflows where a BPM solution would provide better visibility into workflow and increase efficiency.
· Research and evaluate in-house tools and vendor products against the requirements to propose recommendations for build vs buy
· Analyze business requirements, provide technical architecture, design, and manage overall delivery
· Partner with the Architecture team to ensure solution is aligned with enterprise strategic direction
· Hands-on development, and have an aptitude and flexibility to learn new technologies / tools
· Responsible for code quality and assurance by focusing on static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning and execution.
· Work with various teams to understand their reporting needs and propose interactive reporting tools that would increase efficiency, reduce redundancy and cut down the turnaround time.
· Team management responsibilities include supervision of staff and / or consultants
· Interact with other internal IT teams to ensure effective functional and technical integration
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
· 8+ years of object oriented software design and development experience in core Java
· 5+ years of experience managing software development teams and managing solution delivery
· 5+ years of proven software development experience with browser-based applications, JavaScript based frameworks and technologies
· Strong understanding of and development experience with workflow tools
· Strong understanding of and development experience interactive reporting tools like Tableau
· Experience in node.js is highly preferred
· Experience with AWS is a highly preferred
· Solid PL/SQL programming skills
· Strong understanding and proven experience with Web-Services, Spring, Angular JS
· Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal are required
· Demonstrated ability to partner closely with multiple business and IT teams
· Must be comfortable with test-driven development and continuous integration
· Experience in Financial Industry is a plus
