Title: Marketing Analyst
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+ months with quarterly renewal
We are seeking for a Marketing Analyst who will provide analytic support to the Global Events Strategy team, based in San Jose, CA.
In this role you will work closely with senior Event Engagement Managers and their clients, providing analytic support for strategic decision-making including but not limited to, customer segmentation, buyer decision process, brand equity and Internet intelligence (online opinion), customer satisfaction, marketing activity effectiveness, as well as the assessment of underlying drivers of financial and operational performance at events, including demand estimation.
- The ideal candidate is energetic, flexible and organized, has the ability to quickly grasp business needs and issues, is comfortable interpreting meaning and relevance from raw data, and able to present that data in a concise manner to key stakeholders.
- Will work with global cross-functional teams where you will routinely focus individuals on the work necessary to achieve project goals and objectives, within a set timeframe and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with senior Event Engagement Managers (and clients) to assess event effectiveness.
- Manage and prioritize recurring and ad hoc analytic requests.
- Wrangle data from multiple sources including on-line data and data derived from multiple off-line sources to create integrated views that can be used to drive decision-making.
- Collect, validate and verify data. Follow-up on data discrepancies or integrity issues and perform detailed comprehensive analysis.
- Use latitude to consider and decide which tools, solutions, practices, and or procedures to use.
- Design and build reports and dashboards.
- Effectively communicate findings and make use of data visualization techniques
- Devise new ways to capture and interpret event data.
- Support the data system requirements to develop department level scorecards
- Represent Global Events to key organizations within the Centralized Marketing Organization including Customer Intelligence, Market Intelligence and the Global Demand Center.
- Understand marketing and sales systems and represent Global Events in discussions around those systems. Work to drive system changes that will enhance the future ability of Global Events to track and analyze performance.
Requirements:
- Self-starter and obstacle remover who can identify value-add projects, take ownership, and get the job done.
- 5+ years of experience as a Marketing Analyst, preferably at a Fortune 500 technology company.
- Must be experienced with inspecting, cleaning, transforming, mapping, and analyzing/modeling data with the goal of highlighting useful information to support decision-making.
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel (or equivalent software for data analysis) and demonstrated competency in PowerPoint.
- Intellectual curiosity and client service mentality.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Impeccable attention to detail.
- Must be able to combine analytical skills with strong business knowledge.
