The end user device Engineer is a member of the Global Infrastructure Services Strategy, Design and Planning team. Individual will be responsible for establishing, and maintaining the systems, tools, policies, and processes required to deploy and support application and workforce services to end user devices across the enterprise. Duties will focus on defining standards, deployment methods, supported configurations for IT provisioned desktop/laptop systems using Windows and Mac Operating systems as well as end user devices following Riverbed BYOD policy.


Role will also be responsible for completing or overseeing testing and qualifying all desktop/laptop software and updates in accordance with all compliancy and audit requirements.

Key elements of the role also include knowledge of tools that manage the distributed desktop environment including, platform OS updates, security updates, Group Policy updates, Security deployment protecting our resources from virus, malware and hacking, updates to antivirus and protective measures to ensure the information and access is restricted to authorized users. End User Device Engineering also defines and creates the next generation desktop platform for Riverbed Technology as well as roadmaps for supporting releases from iOS and Android smartphone and tablet providers.


  Technical Skill Requirements:

Build and maintain the current operating system image(s)


- Develop and automate solutions using PowerShell scripting techniques

- Prepare application packages using Windows Installer technology for unattended distribution to enterprise

  systems 

- Strong working knowledge and experience with the deployment to end user devices  enterprise applications

  including - Active Directory, Office 2010 & 2013, Office 365, Skype for Business, Lync and including room 

  AV, screens, Crestron  and video walls

- Strong working knowledge and experience with the deployment to end user devices with cloud based or

  SaaS  solutions for collaboration and productivity tools (Office 365, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange 

  Online)

- SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) administration and InTunes (Image creation, updating, testing,   and deployment, patching and maintenance)

- Contribute to technical documentation (White Papers, FAQs, Solutions) for internal and/or external use

 

-   Provide sound documentation of technical support issues using the available tools, like case management

   systems and bug reporting tools

 

-    Develop a "Can-Do" attitude and suggest ways to improve the team performance and increase customer's

   satisfaction

 

Professional Skill Requirements:

-       Excellent Customer Service skills. This is an important part of the position since there will be interaction with employees at all levels (individual contributors, management and executives).

-       Excellent communication skills.  Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers team members and management.

-       Experience with working with multiple service partners in a sourcing relationship for managing image deployments, updates and qualification testing

-       Must be a self-starter; able to work in a fast paced environment.

-       Ability to prioritize workload, queue and other assignments; excellent in time management

-       Strong team player working on both shared and individual assignments

-       Technically minded with a focus on the customer

-       Motivated by the challenges and rewards of a fast moving company

-       Able to perform well under pressure

-       Leadership qualities; ability to mentor and train colleagues


-       Experience and Education:

-       Qualified candidates should possess a minimum 5 years of recent, professional, hands on and some over the phone technical support experience. 

-       BA/BS degree preferred or relative experience

-       Experience preferred working in a Fortune 500 technology company
