[KITlist] Sales Manager (Mountain View, CA)

Please direct your responses to: jobs@smugmug.com

SmugMug is on the hunt for a fierce yet fun sales unicorn, who's gifted at persuading people to open their wallets and, "Show us the money!"

So who's SmugMug?

We're a 13-year-old Mountain View-based company that's half heart and half brain, half high-tech and half high-touch, half art and half science, half creativity and half technology. We help photographers at all levels create beautiful online homes to protect, share and sell their photos. We have a huge following in the industry and our customers love us — and right now we're looking to expand our Business Development/Sales team to help build that following, dial up that love, and build up our bank account.

That's where you come in.

We're searching for a Smuggy Sales Manager—a brave soul who'll be our go-to guy/gal for selling, planning and implementing sales programs, both short and long range, targeted at existing and new markets. That's the long version…The short version is—we want someone who'll make it rain. Not in the California drought way, although, if you have some magic liquid-falling-from-the-sky powers that would be great too, but we'd rather have dollar-bills-falling- from-the-sky-and-into-our-pockets kind of rain.

What will you be working on? So happy you asked!

Develop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts

Recommend product positioning

Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners

Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly

Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales

Work closely with Marketing Department for effective new feature launches

Coordinate sales distribution by establishing quotas and goals

Develop and manage sales operating budgets

Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements

Prepare sales report showing sales volume and potential sales

Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness.

What you'll need to succeed.

BA/BS degree in sales, marketing or business administration

Experience in photography/graphics industry sales with proven results

5 plus years progressive experience leading sales team functions

8 plus years proven track record of success in inside sales and business development

Strong communication skills at all levels, from C-level to peers to external relationships

Experience working with CRM, preferably SalesForce and SalesForce ecosystem

What will help you to succeed.

A love of dogs (we have a dog-friendly office)

An interest in photography (we are a photography technology company after all)

A belief that there is such a thing as a free lunch (because we've got one every day)

An aversion to keeping track of vacation days (we don't!)

A present location near-ish to Mountain View (or the desire to relocate near-ish to it)

If you think you've got what we're looking for, give us a shout in the form of a cover letter and resume to jobs@smugmug.com. In your letter, tell us a bit about you, your experience, what you'll bring to SmugMug and something that makes you that unique Sales Manager unicorn we've been searching for. If you keep us smiling (like our quirky green logo) we'll be in touch.
