Position Summary:

The Information Security team is staffing a senior solutions architect position to fulfill a key role within the firm. The security solution architect will identify security needs and problems across the firm, work closely with architecture and other technical teams to translate the needs into operational security solutions and ensure the overall success of the solutions. The role is ideal for individuals seeking an opportunity to make a high impact within a large scale organization. The security solutions architect will have a view into business processes across multiple functional areas within the business and form in-depth partnerships with architecture, applications, and infrastructure teams. The security solutions architect will have a unique opportunity to tackle industry level challenges within a company context and champion the solutions from business needs to solutions delivery.

The security solutions architect will coordinate cross functional teams in the gathering of requirements and identifying problem areas to form a common set of security needs. Problem solving will be the cornerstone of the role developing innovative security solutions leveraging leading technologies and resolving any gaps. The security solutions architect will oversee the success of the solution as the internal product manager with an in depth intimate technical knowledge for the solution throughout the deployment life cycle. The security solutions architect will be responsible for championing the security solutions across Wellington through a combination of senior level communication and knowledge transfer with key stakeholders. The security solutions architect will engage the end user community frequently to provide detailed solution implementation guidance, obtain direct user feedback and facilitate sharing of solution best practices between teams.

Responsibilities:

· Coordinate Cross Organizational Teams to Gather Security Needs and Identify Problem Areas

· Define Success Criteria and Expected Outcome to Meet the Needs

· Identify Innovative Security Solutions from Products and Technologies

· Collaborate with Architecture Leads to Resolve Solution Gaps

· Facilitate Review and Buy in from Security Need Stakeholders for Solution Options

· Oversee the Success of the Security Solution through the Full Life Cycle of Deployment

· Provide In Depth Technical Expertise for Security Solutions

· Develop Operational Turnover Plans and Knowledge Transfer for Solutions

· Support On Call Rotation for Security Operations to Stay Current with Technology Deployment

· Provide Internal Product Management for Security Solutions

· Provide the Lead Technical Interface with the Vendor for Solutions

· Champion Security Solutions across Wellington to Encourage Adoption

· Develop Security Solution Presentations for Senior Management, Users, and Supporting Teams

· Develop Direct Relationships with End Users and Provide Frequent Knowledge Transfer of Security Solutions

· Establish a Collaborative Process with End Users to Obtain Feedback on Solutions and Share Best Practices

Required Skills and Competencies:

The security solution architect’s role will span multiple security solutions. The individual will need to have in depth working knowledge and be comfortable with the following security technologies:

· Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention, VPN Perimeter Defense, DDoS Prevention, Data Loss Prevention, Antivirus, Sandboxing Technologies, Security Data Analytics, Vulnerability Scanners, Password Management Systems, & AWS.

Candidate should have direct working knowledge of core technologies:

· Networking technologies (LAN, WAN, Routing Protocols), Server Technologies (Linux, Windows, VMWare), Database Technologies (Oracle, SQL Server), and AWS Technologies (Cloud formation, Firewalls/Proxies).

Non-technical Qualifications:

· BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

· 5 or more years of IT Security Experience

· Certified Information Systems Security (CISSP) is strongly preferred

· Strong Leadership Skills in Developing Collaborative Solutions Across Multiple Teams

· Strong Problem Solving Skills taking multiple inputs and developing solution options

· Strong Communication and Internal Marketing Skills to Support Product Champion Role

· Sound decision-making skills
