Description
The Buyer/Planner/Logistics role is a critical position, in large part due to a high SKU count, multi-step manufacturing process and rapid turnover of tooling changes. One that cannot be achieved without stellar planning and logistics support.
The buyer/planner will report to the Materials Manager.
Location
Cupertino, CA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned)
1. Administer all purchasing functions of the organization, ensuring that the lowest total costs is realized
2. Responsible for efficient plant planning and scheduling
3. Construct Bill of Materials, or BOM´s for all new parts
4. Responsible for ensuring the that all key ERP functions are documented and followed
5. Develop a Business Continuity Plan in conjunction with both local and corporate resources to ensure that the business is poised to rapidly resume production after a critical ERP system failure or natural disaster
6. Track and publish the following key metrics: On-Time Delivery, Scrap Rates and Machinery Utilization
7. Liaison between plant operations and customers
8. Ensure that NDA´s are in place and on file with all suppliers
9. Minimal shipping and receiving functions
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are a representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience
College degree (BA / BS) or equivalent, a minimum of 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Duration
Approx. six (6) months, to begin with, subject to extension.
