Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking an experienced Market Data Analyst Consultant for our technology client in San Jose, CA. This consultant will work with the Field Marketing division for our client�s Services Sales organization. This role will be responsible for analyzing the external market, competitive landscape, and technology changes to identify opportunities and risk areas for Services Sales.
The right consultant will have well-developed quantitative skills for successfully measuring market opportunities, sizing and metrics. This role requires an effective communicator who thinks strategically, writes concisely and speaks easily to large and small groups including peers and executives. Must have the appropriate diplomatic skills to work across a matrixed organization and be a coalition builder who can easily defend positions from a data perspective and build confidence in finding business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a blend of business acumen and market intelligence expertise, is detailed and results oriented with proven experience in partnering with business stakeholders.
Specific Responsibilities:
Run global analytics and qualitative / customer behavior studies on requests from key global stakeholders, corporate functions, divisions or geographies
Develop actionable insights from existing available datasets
Support global campaign planning and targeting activities
Partner with analysts in geographies, divisions or other corporate functions to bring the necessary support, market intelligence expertise and knowledge transfer in order to scale the market intelligence practice efficiently.
Collect market intelligence best practices across the organization to build into the company�s practices and ensure that locally developed analysis and data has the opportunity to be leveraged globally where applicable
Continuously and relentlessly increase awareness of available dataset and market intelligence tools, capabilities and practices
Skills:
7-10 years� experience of market data / market research / intelligence analysis for at least one large technology company. Must have well-developed analytic / quantitative assessment and market research skills for successfully measuring market opportunity, sizing, and metrics
Proven analytics ability/experience dealing with complex analytical projects and large data sets. Ability to pull data directly from large databases and write complex queries
Experience with one or more Web reporting packages (Omniture, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Coremetrics, etc.).
Quantitative and qualitative analysis expertise (analysis, modeling, policy, methodology, financial/business impacts, reporting)
Experience in strategic management / business consulting
Skilled diplomat, organizationally savvy, and high levels of confidence and maturity
Ability to effectively drive organization through change / change management using data, guiding executives and management to data-driven decisions
Experience driving strategy to completion
Excellent communication, writing skills and presentation skills to present data, context and implications to stakeholders
Solid Microsoft Office Suite experience including expert level Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Bachelor���s Degree in an analytical field (such as Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Operations Research, etc.)
RATE: D.O.E; as W-2 employee of Crawford Group; benefits available
