Manager of Human Resources position for Midan Marketing - Chicago, Illinois area

Midan Marketing is a small marketing and communications agency that provides its clients with personalized service.

This is a great opportunity to build the human resources function for our organization. The Manager of Human Resources is responsible for managing and directing the overall human resource activities for the company.

Responsibilities:
• Manages human resources function; defines HR business plan that supports Midan Marketing's organizational goals; defines and manages HR budget.
• Directs and manages the entire Midan Marketing recruiting/employment process, including working with department heads to forecast short and long-term human capital needs, analyzing resource usage and writing job advertisements and position descriptions.
• Onboards all new employees. Serves as a coordinator for all new hire orientations.
• Oversees performance management process including administration of annual performance reviews; works with managers to ensure process is administered fairly and consistently. Creates attainable career path options for employees; promotes employee training and development.
• Manages salary administration process, including working with external resources and third-party consultants to define benchmarks and updates compensation program as necessary.
• Serves as a point of contact for legal and compliance questions and issues. Defines and enforces Midan policies as necessary.
• Oversees benefit program and all annual offerings, open enrollment, administration and compliance.
• Counsel employees and managers as needed.
• Ensures rewards and recognition programs as well as disciplinary actions are administered fairly and consistently.
• Works closely with Principals to coordinate programs, activities and off-site meetings that cultivate and grow employee engagement and collaboration.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Principals.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years generalist human resources experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and attention to detail skills
• Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy; ability to maintain confidentiality
• Solid business acumen
• Willing to travel periodically to Statesville, North Carolina
